PAUL CLARKE

436 games (1975 - 1986)

Kilmarnock FC Hall of Fame inductee Paul Clarke looks back at a shock Scottish Cup victory in 1978 before reflecting on his 11-year senior career.

A true 'one-club player', Paul speaks about his roles as captain, coach and, these days, with the Former Players' Association.

This episode is much more than the story of one match; it is an insight into a unique era of the sport in Scotland.

Paul Clarke had a bit of everything to his game. In the words of teammate George Maxwell, β€œhe was a class act.” Playing when part-time status greatly influenced the career journeys of a talented Kilmarnock squad, the cultured centre back experienced promotions and relegations as well as starring in the highly successful 1979-80 Premier Division campaign. The Clarke-McDicken central defensive partnership of close to a decade was revered by supporters and feared by opponents in equal measure.
